A Texas Treat!
In our opinion, "nothin" in life says outside fun like a funnel cake! As we walked up to this stand we were greeted with a warm smile! Owner, Ron McKinney asked, "what can I get ya?" We had a chance to talk with Ron briefly and learned what goes into a good funnel cake. It seems it's all about the family recipe! Ron is the third generation of McKinney Food Service a business founded in the 1920's by his grandfather, D.J. McKinney. Though they are really known for their corndogs the funnel cake was just what we were craving.

Main St. Days - Grillin' Competition
Central Market - The Big Green Egg - BBQ Outfitters Southlake
Now this was a cool prize packed competition! The Central Market Grillin' Competition was a three day pork, chicken, steak and pizza cook off/grilling competition. Get this! The winner from each session received a Big Green Egg Grill as their prize (a $1200.00 retail value each). For the grand finale, the winners from all the sessions had a pizza cook off. The winner from this competition received an awesome accessories kit and cookbook package. The grills and prizes were provided by Southlake's BBQ Outfitters .
